Garlic butter recipe #1
- Step 1
Begin by placing the butter (125 g) in the microwave for ten seconds to soften. Or you can leave it at room temperature for 2-3 hours before you start making it.
- Step 2
Place into a mixing bowl followed by the chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and chopped garlic (2 garlic).
- Step 3
Mix thoroughly and wrap with greaseproof paper.
- Step 4
To wrap, place butter (125 g) into the centre of the paper and roll into a cylinder. Twist the ends to resemble a Christmas cracker. Store in the fridge or freezer.
Garlic butter recipe #2
- Step 1
Begin by drizzling the full bulb of garlic (2 garlic) with a little olive oil. Wrap it with tin foil and place in a preheated oven at 190°C- 375°F for 45 Minutes.
- Step 2
Place the butter (125 g) in the microwave for ten seconds to soften. Or you can leave it at room temperature for 2-3 hours before you start making it.
- Step 3
Once the garlic (2 garlic) is cooked, allow cooling. Cut in half through the centre of the garlic. The garlic will be soft and sticky so you can just squeeze the garlic puree right out of the skins. I demonstrate this in my recipe video so be sure to check it out.
- Step 4
Place the butter (125 g) into a mixing bowl followed by the chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and roasted garlic (2 garlic).
- Step 5
Mix thoroughly and wrap with greaseproof paper.
- Step 6
To wrap, place butter (125 g) into the centre of the paper and roll into a cylinder. Twist the ends to resemble a Christmas cracker. Store in the fridge or freezer.
- Step 7
TIP- If you a freezing your garlic (2 garlic) butter (125 g) try slicing it first and placing the butter disks between greaseproof paper. This way you can take as much or a little as you would like as a when you use it.

Questions people ask
How long does garlic butter, two ways take?
About 1 hour from start to finish, of which 15 min is prep and 45 min is cooking. That figure is worked out from the method rather than timed with a stopwatch, so give yourself a little more the first time.
How much does this make?
The original recipe did not state a yield, so nothing has been invented for it. The scale control on the recipe card multiplies the quantities instead, which is the honest version of the same thing.
Can I see the ingredients in ounces and pints?
Yes. The metric and imperial switch on the recipe card converts every quantity, rounded to amounts you can actually weigh or measure rather than to four decimal places. Your choice is remembered for every recipe on the site.
Can I cook it ahead?
This one sits in the batch cooking group, which means it was picked for cooking in quantity rather than eaten straight from the pan. Cool it quickly, and freeze it in the portion sizes you will actually want later.
Is it vegetarian?
Yes, as written. If you are cooking for a strict vegetarian, the one to check is the cheese: several hard cheeses are made with animal rennet.
